EW has revealed this stunning new book cover for New Moon to be released by Little, Brown in coordination with the movie later this year. It’s a bit different–and better, I’d say–then the one we saw earlier.

Despite the recent influx of vampire-related content into the mainstream media and the youthful enthusiasm that accompanied it, vampirism still remains a dangerous threat to our nation’s children. Unchecked interest in vampires can lead to unfortunate summer wardrobe choices, rickets and diabetes. We can’t afford to lose our kids to these flashy, sexy, fly-by-night vampire impersonators who continue to fill their heads with untruths about the vampire lifestyle.

MetroNews has another in their ongoing series of interviews from the set of New Moon. This time, it’s an interview with New Moon heroine Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan– What are the changes in this second installment? Your character Bella takes risks again…
Well, she loses what basically gives her the drive to do anything in her whole life. She loses the man she’s in love with, but she also loses her entire life plan, and she’s so young to have to be forced into a decision like that. It’s just a glorified, elaborate version of the worst breakup you’ve ever been through. All of a sudden you question everything. All of a sudden you know nothing and you’re dropped in the middle of a freezing cold ocean.
Oddly, we have a character that’s warm enough and bright enough to bring her out of that, and it’s truly gut-ripping. Because as perfect as Jacob is for her, she holds on to an ideal, the ultimate fiery love that she has for Edward even though it’s not comfortable, it’s not practical and it’s not a good idea. So it’s really a very strong thing to do. It takes someone who really trusts themselves.

Check out this new article on MTV where the cast talks a bit about some of the scenes they shot for new Moon, including a last-minute addition for Michael Welch: “Kristen [Stewart] and Taylor [Lautner] had to lobby to get this one scene in the film that wasn’t originally in — and I am forever indebted to them for that,” revealed Mike Welch, citing a beloved moment from Stephenie Meyer’s “New Moon” novel. “There’s a scene that’s in the book, the three-way date between Jacob and Bella and Mike, where Mike ends up getting sick, and it’s just very awkward.”
As for how physically ill Welch’s Mike Newton gets in the comic-relief scene, he said we shouldn’t expect projectile vomit or anything. “We’re talking a little bit,” he laughed. “A little sick.”
The website AskMen has a feature up about reasons vampires appeal to women, and how guys can use this knowledge to their advantage–would you agree with some of these, or are they just wishful thinking? For example– Vampires are loners: The average guy runs with a pack; a group of close drinking buddies who come over to watch the game, hit the links on the weekends and get into trouble together. This clan takes up quality time and attention that is usually reserved for a girlfriend. Vampires work alone. They don’t have many friends, and if they do, they are usually out doing their own thing. Women love vampires because they have all the time in the world. Literally.
What the single guy could learn: Don’t hang out with your friends so much. Make time for her and occasionally bag plans with the boys. The guys, the game, the golf, and the beers will always be there. Show her you are your own man.
Vampires require no commitment during the day: Even though women love to spend as much time as possible with the man they adore, they still want some alone time to do things with the girls or on their own. They feel bad if they don’t at least call and check in a few times during the day. Women love vampires because vampires can’t take up the entirety of a woman’s day. Hell, they can’t even stay that late into the night. Sleepovers only last until the sun is coming up and vampires are nowhere to be found until the sun goes down.
What the single guy could learn: Sometimes a woman does just want to be alone. Give her time to do her own thing and be her own person. Give her space to be independent. It will make the time she spends with you even more special.
